STARKWEATHER ON THE RUN

As January 28 draws to a close, Charlie and Caril are heading northwest through the gorgeous formations of the Sandhills on their way to Wyoming. They stop in Broken Bow. The sleep for a few hours in a wayside park. They have sex. They cruise through Fort Robinson and across the border into Wyoming. The police are centered on the belief that Charlie and Caril are still in Bennett. They search farmhouses, barns. The locals are looking hard for the couple. Charlie hears news of the slayings on the radio. Charlie everywhere. Charlie is nowhere.
