In Broad Daylight — Author Runs a Combine

I have more relevant photos of my recent trip to Skidmore, but thought I would throw this one in to break the monotony.  After Sunday dinner at the Goslees, I joined Kirby one of the sons, on his combine on Goslee property outside of town. It was harvest time, after all, and the farmer cannot linger after dinner, particularly when the crops and land are dry. I ran the machine for half an hour, and did all right, but some of the stalks merely bent over in the  teeth of the combine, which will leave good snacking for the geese on their way north, and perhaps even on their return in the spring.
